The Yemeni Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violations and Torture, “Will and Hope”, condemns in the strongest possible terms the brutal murder of young Abdulrahman Abduljalil Al-Alimi, a native of Taiz Governorate. Al-Alimi succumbed to horrific physical and psychological torture within prisons belonging to the Special Security Forces and National Security in the city of Aden—an incident that reflects the continued approach of loathsome racial and regional discrimination that threatens the social fabric.

The chapters of this tragedy began on April 1, 2026, after the victim—a father of five children—left Taiz Governorate for Aden to seek a livelihood and assist his relatives. He was kidnapped and initially detained in the Sector 8 prison in Sheikh Othman, under the management of the individual Nasser Al-Dahshali, nicknamed “The Devil.”

  • The victim appeared in a leaked video clip in a state of total physical collapse, with marks of torture covering his body, before being transferred to the Al-Solban Camp prison, led by the individual Jalal Al-Rubaie, where his death was later announced as a lifeless body resulting from the abuse he endured behind bars.

This crime is not merely an individual transgression; it is a direct result of the policy of racial discrimination practiced by armed formations operating outside the framework of the law. What provokes denunciation and human rights concern is the Ministry of Interior’s action in recycling and obstructing accountability for Jalal Al-Rubaie by appointing him to a leadership position despite his extensive record of gross violations in previous secret detention centers. This reinforces the policy of impunity and turns security institutions into a cover for militia practices.

The Yemeni Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violations and Torture “Will and Hope” joins its voice with the victim’s family in their urgent appeals addressed to the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Attorney General, and the Ministers of Justice and Interior. The Center demands the opening of a transparent and independent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the liquidation of young Al-Alimi and to subject all those involved to a fair trial, with the necessity of dismissing the implicated leadership and closing all illegal detention centers managed away from the oversight of the judiciary and the Public Prosecution.

The recurrence of these systematic crimes against citizens of the northern governorates in Aden places the Presidential Leadership Council before a historical and legal responsibility to end the state of security chaos and restore the prestige of the state, while protecting human rights and equal citizenship for all Yemenis without discrimination or intimidation.
