The President of The Yemeni Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violations and Torture (Will and Hope) met with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Yemen, Mr. Thomas F. Schneider, as part of ongoing efforts to advocate for victims and enhance cooperation in the human rights and humanitarian fields, contributing to the consolidation of the distinguished friendly relations between the Republic of Yemen and the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in Yemen, the accelerating events in the Middle East and their repercussions on Yemen, as well as exploring ways to support peacebuilding efforts, achieve stability and promote recovery and development pathways.
The meeting also addressed the important role played by the Federal Republic of Germany in supporting the legitimate Yemeni government, backing humanitarian and human rights efforts aimed at mitigating civilian suffering and supporting initiatives that contribute to protecting human rights and establishing the principles of justice and the rule of law.
The President of the Yemeni center commended the positive role played by the German Ambassador, as well as the widespread respect and appreciation he enjoys for his humanitarian stances, high moral character and contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
This meeting follows the visit made by the German Ambassador to Marib Governorate, where he observed firsthand the humanitarian conditions in IDPs camps and witnessed the extent of suffering endured by hundreds of thousands of displaced families as a result of the conflict and the extremely difficult humanitarian conditions it has generated.
