Pardoning a Prisoner After 27 Years Spent in the Darkness of Prisons
The Yemeni Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violations and Torture (Will and Hope) extends its highest expressions of congratulations and blessings to the released prisoner / Mohammed Taher Samoum and his honorable family, on the occasion of attaining his freedom and emerging into the light after spending nearly 27 years serving a life sentence in prison for killing the victim, Bandar Al-Hujaili. These were long years of patience and waiting that ended with his return to life once again.
We, at the Yemeni Center, congratulate the prisoner on this release and this new life, asking God Almighty to grant him success in his future life, to bless him with patience and soundness of mind, and that what he has endured be an expiation for him and an elevation in his ranks.
In this context, the Yemeni Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violations and Torture (Will and Hope) expresses its deep sorrow as a result of the Houthis’ exploitation of his case after 27 years of a life sentence. In reality, no one has done him any favors. It is also shameful for the Al-Hujaili family to exploit the prisoner’s suffering; if they were truly people of forgiveness, they would have forgiven him before his youth was wasted in prison, and they would have taken the initiative to pardon the killer of their son, Bandar bin Nayef Al-Hujaili, at the time or even after 5 years. The Houthis’ exploitation of the case, attempting to recruit the prisoner into the march of death, and humiliating him in the execution square is a disgraceful matter.
Asking God to cover the deceased, Bandar, with His vast mercy and to accept him among the martyrs and the righteous.
