Al-Jawf Office of Social Affairs and Labor visits the “Yemeni Center” in Marib City

Social Affairs and Labor Office of Al-Jawf Visits “Yemeni Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violations and Torture (Will & Hope)” in Marib to Review Its Human Rights Activities

The Yemeni Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violations and Torture (Will & Hope) received, this Sunday at its headquarters in Marib, a delegation from the Office of Social Affairs and Labor of Al-Jawf Governorate. The visit aimed to review the progress of work and the humanitarian and human rights activities carried out by the Center.

The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Saleh Mohammed Saleh Hamami, Deputy Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office – Al-Jawf Branch, accompanied by several office staff. They were welcomed by the Executive Director of the Yemeni Center and the Center’s administrative team.

During the visit, the delegation received a detailed briefing on the self-initiated efforts made by the Center in following up on the files of abductees, the forcibly disappeared, and torture victims. They also reviewed the specialized activities undertaken by the “Yemeni Center” at both local and international levels to expose violations and bring the suffering of victims to international forums.

For his part, Mr. Saleh Hamami praised the pioneering role and the immense efforts exerted by the “Yemeni Center” in the human rights field. He commended its clear impact in elevating the files of detainees to the international stage and supporting victims’ families through relief and development activities. Hamami emphasized the necessity of concerted efforts between government entities and civil society organizations to enhance human rights protection and develop human rights work.

The visit also included a kind gesture from the visiting delegation, who expressed their sincere wishes for a speedy recovery for the Chairman of the “Yemeni Center”, who has been receiving treatment in a hospital in Berlin, Germany, for nearly two months. They wished him abundant health and a swift return to the field of human rights work.

In turn, the Chairman of the “Yemeni Center” shared a recorded message expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the representatives of the Social Affairs and Labor Office for this generous visit. He conveyed his high regard for this official interest, noting that he had hoped to be present in person to receive the delegation and participate in this meeting, which serves the interest of joint humanitarian work.
